Entry Evaluation

A. How Are CAP Entries Judged?

All entries will be judged by a committee of leading cable marketing professionals who have achieved  Director levels or higher positions, and have at least five years of cable marketing or creative agency / media expertise. Our CAP judges serve by invitation only and are drawn from the following business and industry sectors:

  1. Cable  Operators & Content Providers
  2. Advertising, Branding & Media Agencies
  3. Other Entertainment, Marketing and Creative organizations

B. Judging criteria

Each entry is judged by a standard of excellence, rather than against other entries. CAP is not a “best of” competition and winning entries must meet or exceed a predetermined score set annually by CTAM Europe’s Creative Awards Committee.
All entries are evaluated equally on the following six criteria, which entrants complete as part of their submission process. (Please see Entry Form for details.)

1. The situation
Is the business situation, marketing challenge or communication issue described in sufficient detail? Has its likely impact on the brand or business been clearly expressed? Has the situation or objective been expressed in numerical terms?

2. The audience
Has the consumer group impacted by the situation been identified in sufficient detail? Is it clear how it differs from other groups? Does the description connect the group to the business situation or objective in a credible way?

3. The strategy
Is this a description of a plan or does it include details about execution? Does the plan clearly address the business situation or objective in the context of the audience? Does this strategy appear to be unique to the situation or a “cure-all?”

4. The implementation
Is there enough detail about how this strategy was executed? Was the execution designed to bring this strategy to life in the most powerful or engaging way? How unique was the execution?

5. The budget
Were a lot of unnecessary resources utilized? Was there an efficient use of available resources?

6. The measurement
Has the business situation been redressed? Was the objective achieved? Was sufficient rigour applied to measuring results? Are the findings or data open to other interpretations?

C. Scoring

CAP judges use a scoring grid developed by CTAM Europe’s Creative Awards Committee. Based on the above judging criteria, this grid is used to evaluate all CAP entries.
